What a start to the new year! My previous host shut down with just a few days warning and I spent the month of January getting things figured out. But the blog is on a great new host and not going anywhere.
I like to make my first post of the year my Word of the Year and share a few of my goals so here we go!
Word of the Year
My word last year was artist since I wanted to focus a lot on returning to the arts outside of my writing. Which I did! I did a lot of watercolors, started teaching myself oils, explored miniatures, and did some other arts. I had a lot of fun with that this past year. But, this year, I’m going to focus on something a little more specific. My word this year is:
I don’t talk about the “vanilla side” of my life much on QC but, in that world, I have been working on a book for several years. I am in the process of finishing it with plans to begin querying agents this Spring! My goal this year is to get an agent and hopefully a publishing deal by the end of the year. I associate the word author with published writers so that is my word this year!
Goals
I’m keeping the same format of goal tracking that I did last year. Everything is broken down into categories and then individual tasks that will help me reach the overarching goal. Each task is then put into my monthly goals so I can see what I need to do this month. It makes it so much easier for my brain to understand what the heck I need to do to get to the next step.
Some of my goals this year include:
- Finishing my butler book
- Focusing on courtesan skills and developing them
- Improving my self-care routines
- Read 30 books
- Finish unpacking
- Consistent posting on QC
- Teaching more kink classes
At the moment, we don’t have any major plans for the year so I am looking forward to a smooth year. I’ve got some really big goals to reach and am nervous about getting there. But it will be great to finally cross off some of these things!
